My Work
For the past 2 years, I have worked a multitude of internships with different organizations. Some of them were more social media and content development based. Even though they were more content based, I did learn a lot of various skills such as HTML, Web Design, Marketing Strategy and Graphic Design along the way!
Social Media Experience
I've helped 2 different state agencies help find their voice via social media! Not to influence anyone or convince people, but rather help people learn about different subjects and to help them thrive using state government. This offered knowledge to Hoosiers so they knew what help was available to them.
Social Media Manager
In my first internship as a Social Media Manager at Growing Places Indy, they were growing rapidly at the time so I was handling three different social accounts across all platforms. During this internship, I was copywriting different headers, hashtags, and implementing various graphics for the social media page.
Content Marketing Intern
My second internship I was able to get more experience in both design and social media at Marian University Indianapolis. The first day I was thrusted in the world of Web Design with my due date being by the end of the week. We had to submit and make sure the updated website was ready for use the first week I joined which was a whole adventure on its own. This way I was able to learn a lot of web design and some HTML coding within a short period of time. Later on into the internship, I had grown a mentor/mentee relationship with my mentor Sonya Chevigny! She taught me many tips and tricks about social media. She also invited me to help her layout social media guidelines for the whole campus. Sonya has taught me how to use some of the Illustrator, Canva and Hootsuite programs to make my internship fruitful. I was even able to produce and edit my YouTube video with her help! I was able to learn loads of various things in this internship and forever grateful for my supervisors guidance.
Social Media Code of Conduct
During my time as a social media intern, I was closely working with the Director of Social Media Marketing at Marian University to create a social media code of conduct for all clubs and athletic teams that were with Marian Univeristy.
Audience Engagement Intern
In my 3rd internship, the one I am in currently, at WFYI which is a local broadcasting station in Indiana, I am helping the transition between traditional advertisement and modern day advertisement. My main goal is to gain more audience interaction and how to continue to get that interaction on social media. One of the major projects that I am working on is a pitch deck about how podcasts are occupying a major part of the radio field and how we can easily garner our presence within that field! I've also done a lot of social media promos for WFYI and made tiny edits such as using memes, implementing hashtag etiquettes, and help creating some template graphics for future use for the WFYI streaming service!
