Academic Projects
During my time at Marian, I had the opportunity to sink my teeth into a vast array of classes that have taught me many different creative projects.
Marian Pheonix
During my last semester in college, I was able to join a student media class. The aim of this class is to let you express yourself and your opinions in a safe space. I opted for a podcast about current world issues and doing some infographics to express myself. For the podcast I've included my first episode since it is a bit rusty but it holds close to my heart because it was about Marian University and a problem that had arisen in the student body that had yet to be addressed. By giving a neutral platform for both parties to talk, I think this was my best piece of "first" work I have done.
Writing for New Media
This class was an in depth introduction to Adobe products and for us students to let our creative juices flow. We were focused on different modes of expressing ourselves and learning new products at the same time! It was a great class with a great instructor who was always available to teach us. Some of these pieces of work are honestly not my favorite since I am such a perfectionist that I always see room for improvement but I think it's important to show what I've done not so well so that it shows my room for growth and how I have grown in comparison to the past.
For our Final Project we were told to make a portfolio. I know it's kind of funny, a portfolio in a portfolio but this was one of the first SEO works I've done all by myself and yes I've made a better portfolio but I think this is just a show that I have grown and that this is something I did get an A on and I did well for what little knowledge I knew.
New Media Marketing
This class introduced me to my passion, marketing and advertising. During my time in this class we made a lot of analytical research and tried to understand social media as a tool for advertising. This class wasn't focused on the creative necessarily rather it was a discussion class on how advertising has pivoted especially during the pandemic and how it's affected businesses.
